Included in this gallery are a few drawings and etchings. With young children and working full time, I had little time for my art. I did explore some quick watercolors and ink drawings on vacations. (Visit my series of Canadian Cottages and Boathouses.) I also enjoyed drawing and painting homes as gifts or on commission. You are invited to visit “My Spanish Notebook” that shares a range of quick sketches from my 1965 year in Spain and also my Travel Notebook of Spain and Italy (2007) to see more extensive pen and ink sketches. Inspired by Goya’s etchings, (I lived just around the corner from the Prado Museum) the process and challenges of etching piqued my interest. When I returned from Spain, I began studying art seriously, and explored etching and printmaking in the 60’s, 70’s and early 80’s. I enjoyed experimenting with fine linear drawings, aquatints and multicolored etchings. Unfortunately I have not had access to a press for many years. (Some of the prints show early stages of the finished etchings.)
