Flora and Fauna

Trees, flowers, and plants have long been the focus of my art. Each enables me to contemplate and experience nature. Their changing colors announce the seasons; their beauty and their strength open us to new and old adventures.  Recently I am including animals and birds in some of my work. I portray their relationships to each other and to their natural surroundings.   I capture most on film first and then paint my interpretation of each in their own habitats. This has become an enjoyable challenge. Colors are sometimes soft and elegant and invite us to step quietly into their world.  Bold colors fill us with delight and joy.  Painting flora and fauna is bringing new adventures to my work.
