Where we live, work and play.

Places where we grow up shape our lives. Places where we live are often special for us. Places where we work frequently tell things about who we are. Places where we play help fulfill our lives as we share with friends, family and sometimes strangers.  I am inspired by patterns of buildings, their angles and reflections. I frequently alter shapes and colors to express the liveliness of special places, activities and favorite things.   My early interest in architecture drew me to painting houses and buildings. Included in this collection is a Tennessee farm near Kingsport where I grew up. Some paintings and drawings show places where I have traveled, where friends live, where I live.  Boston has now been my home for over 50 years.  Some paintings share places where I have worked and others where we relax and play or just wander in nearby parks and woods. The outdoors is my inspiration and my treasure. My studio is my refuge.
