Recent Work

Many of my recent works emphasize the energy of bold colors.  Several paintings focus on figures in different perspectives in space. time and color.  Working from unusual viewpoints enables me to emphasize and exaggerate specific characteristics, feelings and interests of the subjects.  For the first time in many years I am attempting to paint people and animals. This is a difficult but exciting new challenge for me.  I have also focused on bold colors in my commissioned “home portraits”. 

Returning to my art became a refuge for me especially during  Covid. Painting helped reduced my loneliness, fears and isolation from family and close friends.  I continue to meet twice each week (on Zoom) with other artists as we work in our own home studios. We have become “artist colleagues”  as we share our thoughts, feelings and our work. My new friends inspire me to explore painting in new ways.
